This session will focus on creating a welcoming environment for members of the LGBTQ community. Learn how to speak with LGBTQ individuals without causing offense, understand how their life experiences and legal needs may differ, and identify ways to avoid unintentional bias. Strategies for reaching out to this underserved community are also discussed in a practice-development context. Participants will leave the session prepared to work with same-sex couples and other LGBTQ clients with new understanding and confidence.
