Young Lawyers Section – Pro Bono Estate-Planning Clinic

Description

The Maryland State Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Section, in cooperation with the Maryland Pro Bono Resource Center, is proud to sponsor this Estate-Planning Clinic.

We are looking for volunteer attorneys to participate in an Estate Planning event to prepare wills, advance medical directives, and financial powers of attorney for community members.

Volunteers will first receive online training prior to the day of the event, which can be completed at the volunteers’ own pace leading up to the event. On the day of the event, volunteers will see clients for in-person appointments starting at 10:30 a.m. and ending at 3:30 p.m.

This free estate-planning clinic helps community members age in place, preserves intergenerational wealth (which, for our clients, is generally equity in the home), provides security for families, and protects the rights of home owners.

No experience in trusts and estates law is required to participate, although we welcome experienced practitioners. To register for this clinic, please contact Bill Kiniry at william.kiniryiii@us.dlapiper.com or 410-580-4623.

Volunteers MUST complete the online training (link to be provided on an individual basis when volunteers get registered for the event) BEFORE the day of the event itself.
