The Lawyer Assistance Program is available to all lawyers in Maryland. Everyone experiences personal or work related problems at some point. Early intervention is the key to resolving these concerns. Call the Lawyer Assistance Program for free, confidential counseling.  We have a network of counselors throughout the state. The Lawyer Assistance Program is committed to providing assistance to lawyers, judges, law students, the legal community and their families by offering assessment, referral, short-term counseling, and continued support to insure long term success.

Federal and state law ensures the confidentiality of those who seek assistance through our program or those who have been referred to the Lawyers Assistance Program. In addition Rule 8.3 in The Maryland Lawyers’ Rules of Professional Conduct and Attorney Trust Accounts protects the confidentiality of lawyers using the program.

Lisa Caplan, LCSW-C has over 20 years experience in her field, and extensive experience working with lawyers and judges in the areas of mental health, substance abuse and trauma. In her free time she enjoys spending time with family and friends, paddle boarding, sailing, rock climbing and training for triathlons.
