Artificial Intelligence & Legal Technology Task Force

As part of its’ previous strategic planning, the Maryland State Bar Association is focused on innovating on behalf of the profession. The MSBA AI Task Force was created in 2023 at the direction of MSBA President Jason DeLoach.  The Task Force received more clarity and charge in 2025, through the leadership of President Marisa Trasatti, and became the AI & Legal Technology Task Force.

The MSBA AI & Legal Technology Task Force is charged to monitor legal and technological developments in this evolving field and provide thought-leadership and updates on the interplay between AI and other legal technologies and the law.

Through the execution of this mission, the task force members have created several resources for members of the profession to better support their understanding and application of current AI practices and Legal Technology. The task force continues to innovate and create more pathways for legal professionals to grow in their understanding and practical application of AI and the ever changing landscape of legal technology.

Their work has also led the MSBA to create the AI Insights and Resources Hub to support the profession. This Hub serves as a critical touchpoint for Maryland lawyers to find learning, resources and publications and more to improve their practice and professional understanding of AI and cutting edge legal technology.
