Litigating Race

Litigating Race

The race of an individual is oftentimes a stronger indicator of outcomes than the fact that a crime was committed. Yet many litigators find discussing the topic of race challenging, emotionally charged, and controversial. This program presents concrete tools for recognizing and addressing issues of race that arise in every case involving a person of color. Participants will learn strategies and practice points for addressing racial disparities at all levels of a criminal case.

Presented by Natasha Dartigue, Esq. of the Maryland Office of the Public Defender and Kirsten Downs, Exec. Director of the Homeless Persons Project.

This presentation is FREE for MSBA Members as part of the Virtual Learning Pass membership benefit!

One hour of CLE credit will be offered to the surrounding MCLE states of Pennsylvania, Virginia and Delaware.
