Agenda
Day 1: Foundations of Mediation: This day introduces the core principles of mediation, including conflict theory, confidentiality, neutrality, and self-determination. Participants will explore various mediation styles and models, with a focus on transformative approaches.
Day 2: Communication and Power Dynamics: Day two delves into the practical tools and communication skills essential for mediators, incorporating insights from neuroscience and mindfulness. Participants will analyze power imbalances and engage in a simulation to apply these concepts.
Day 3: Advanced Dispute Resolution: This day focuses on navigating adversarial disputes and implementing breakthrough strategies. Participants will participate in simulations and engage in brainstorming sessions to enhance their problem-solving skills.
Day 4: Ethics and Complex Mediation: Day four addresses ethical considerations in mediation and explores co-mediation and multi-party mediations. Participants will also discuss diversity in mediation and participate in simulations focused on ethical dilemmas.
Day 5: Application and Next Steps: The final day provides opportunities to apply learned skills through simulations and discussions. Participants will review key concepts, discuss next steps for their mediation careers, and wrap up the training program.

The MSBA appreciates the time and financial commitment required of every registrant. Because of the interdependency of each classmate’s participation in all lectures and role plays for this training to be its best for all participants, 100% attendance is required of each registrant. We appreciate your consideration and understanding of this policy.
Refund Policy
Full refunds for a virtual 40 Hour Basic Mediation Training or virtual 20 Hour Divorce Mediation Training will be accepted by 12:00 p.m. 14 days before the first day of training. If a refund is requested after the cut-off day/time, the registrant will be charged a $150 administrative fee. Cancellations within 3 days of the training, you will be automatically added to the roster of the next available instance of that same training.
