The questioning of witnesses on direct and cross- examination is the central feature of the trial. The challenge is for lawyers to not only ask the right questions but also to do it well. The most difficult challenge for lawyers in trial is to conduct an effective courtroom examination.?This program includes lectures and demonstrations on direct and cross-examination in the context of the trial, and applicable rules of evidence, and procedure. The program will instruct on questioning fact witnesses and expert witnesses, and offer suggestions on secondary sources on the topics discussed. A distinguished faculty will be demonstrating each skill from the courtroom during the program, so virtual attendees will see the process actually play out as it does at trial.
