On December 3 and 5, 2025, 440 recent law school graduates convened at the Supreme Court of Maryland to take the Attorney’s Oath and officially became Maryland attorneys.

Throughout the bar admission ceremonies, notable speakers, including Access to Justice Commission Executive Director Reena Shah, offered insight to the members of the profession and insight on what it means to be a member of the Maryland bar.

As Chief Justice Fader stated, admission to the bar represents both a celebration and a challenge: the celebration of what the new admits had achieved thus far in the necessarily arduous process of becoming a lawyer and a challenge to carry forward with what the best of those who came before them brought to the profession, while also carving their own path in their own way.

The MSBA congratulates and welcomes all of Maryland’s newest attorneys, and wishes them success as they embark on their careers!
