As the home of Maryland’s legal profession, the Maryland State Bar Association celebrates the accomplishments of all of its members. MSBA is proud to highlight the recent achievements, career moves, and impact members make within the legal profession. Please join us in congratulating the following members on their recent moves.

Cole Schotz announced that it has formally opened a Washington, D.C. office with the arrival of former Acting U.S. Attorney for the District of Maryland Phil Selden. The D.C. office launch follows the recent additions of member Jeffrey Saltman and associate Alexa Reed, who joined the firm in March and will work alongside Phil in D.C.

Mr. Selden joins as a member of the firm’s White Collar Criminal Defense & Government Investigations and Litigation departments. He has deep government experience having also served in the roles as First Assistant U.S. Attorney and Assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of Maryland, and as an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York and the District of Columbia.

The Honorable Michele D. Hotten and The Honorable Harry C. Storm  joined The McCammon Group, a leading provider of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services in the mid-Atlantic.

The Honorable Michele D. Hotten recently retired after nine years of distinguished service as a Justice on the Supreme Court of Maryland. She previously served as a Judge on the Court of Special Appeals of Maryland and as an Associate Judge on the Circuit Court for Prince George’s County. Before her service on the bench, Justice Hotten enjoyed a successful law practice and served as an Assistant State’s Attorney for Prince George’s County, the Examiner in Chancery for Prince George’s County, and was the Deputy People’s Zoning Counsel for Prince George’s County. A Fellow of the Maryland Bar Foundation, Justice Hotten is a Past President of the J. Franklyn Bourne Bar Association, Prince George’s County Bar Association, and Alan Goldstein Inns of Court. In 2023, she received the Women’s Bar Association of Maryland’s Rita C. Davidson Award and J. Franklyn Bourne Bar Association’s President’s Award in recognition of her outstanding contributions. Justice Hotten now brings this exceptional record of leadership and accomplishment to The McCammon Group to serve the mediation, arbitration, and special master needs of lawyers and litigants in Maryland, DC, and beyond.

The Honorable Harry C. Storm has joined The McCammon Group after eight years of dedicated service as an Associate Judge on the Sixth Judicial Circuit Court for Montgomery County. Prior to his tenure on the bench, Judge Storm enjoyed a successful career in civil litigation with a focus on commercial disputes, contracts, and tort law. He also served as an Assistant State’s Attorney for Montgomery County. A Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, Judge Storm is a Past President of both the Maryland State Bar Association and the Montgomery County Bar Association. Judge Storm now brings this exemplary record of excellence and experience to The McCammon Group to serve the mediation and arbitration needs of lawyers and litigants throughout Maryland and beyond.

The McCammon Group has provided ADR services including mediation, arbitration, special master, ombuds, and judge pro tempore. It consists of eighty-seven Neutrals including retired judges and practicing attorneys located throughout Virginia, DC, and Maryland. Importantly, throughout this time The McCammon Group has achieved a settlement rate of approximately 85% in its mediation work.
